During this term, Lions have been learning about position, direction and co-ordinates. The children enjoyed playing Battleships in order to practice co-ordinates. We have been improving our knowledge of multiplication tables and reflective symmetry.
With the move towards Brexit, our topic has been a Passport to Europe. We chose to look at Germany and invited Miss Iddon's father into discuss living in Germany and comparing his time to living in Nelson, where he lived as a child. We learnt the names of the colours in German, Do you know what colours rot, gelb, grun and blau are?
We have a German feast and the children ate pumpernickel, gherkins, wurst and kase. The children decided what they liked and did not like. The children also looked at River Mosel and compared it to the industrial region of Lancashire Hill Country.
